DIY Nature Crowns

Things You’ll Need:

  • Construction paper

  • Scissors

  • Double-sided tape

  • Marker

  • Natural elements (flowers, leaves, plants, tree bark)

Step-by-Step Process:

  1. Start by cutting 1-inch-wide strips from construction paper. This will form the base of the crown. Stick two strips together using double-sided tape to make sure the crown fits around your child’s head comfortably.

  2. Now for the fun part—grab some cardboard, and let your child design the shape of their crown. Whether it's pointy, wavy, or zig-zag, their imagination leads the way! Cut out the shape and attach it to the base using more double-sided tape or glue.

  3. Once the crown is all shaped up, cover the front of it with double-sided tape. Remove the protective layer so it’s all set for decorating!

  4. Now, let the kids run wild collecting flowers, leaves, and anything else they want to decorate their crown. Have them gently press their nature finds onto the sticky surface. This is where creativity really blooms!

Pro Tips:

  • Get outside with your kids and make gathering nature part of the experience!

  • To keep it fresh, encourage them to update their crown with new elements they find over time.

  • This is a great activity for spring and summer days, but you can also try it this fall with leaves of all colors.

This simple craft becomes a special keepsake, with each crown unique and personalized by what your child finds in nature. It’s the perfect way to combine outdoor fun with indoor creativity!
