Paper Mache Bowls
Moms Morning Memo
Let’s get our hands a little messy with a classic craft: paper mache bowls. This is one of those timeless activities that’s as easy as it is satisfying, and perfect for some laid-back creative fun.
Activity of the Day
Paper Mache Bowls

What You’ll Need:
Old newspapers or scrap paper
Flour and water for the paste
A bowl to use as a mold
Paints and brushes for decorating
A mixing bowl and spoon
💡 Inspiration
Step-by-Step:
Stir together equal parts flour and water until you have a smooth paste. This will be the glue that holds your bowl together.
Tear up some old newspapers into strips. You’ll be layering these over your mold to create the bowl shape.
Turn a bowl upside down, and start layering the paper strips dipped in the paste over it. Make sure to cover the entire surface, adding several layers for strength.
Once you’ve got enough layers, let the paper mache dry completely. This might take a few hours or overnight.
After it’s dry, carefully remove your paper mache bowl from the mold. Now, it’s time to paint and decorate!
Why You’ll Love It:
This craft is all about enjoying the process as much as the result. It’s a simple way to turn old newspapers into something new and personal, plus kids love getting involved with the messy, hands-on steps.
