Tin Can Drums
Moms Morning Memo
Get ready to fill your home with some joyful noise! Tin can drums are a super fun and easy way to get kids creating and playing music with things you probably already have around the house.
Activity of the Day
Tin Can Drums

What You’ll Need
Empty tin cans (different sizes work best)
Balloons
Rubber bands
Wooden spoons or chopsticks for drumsticks
Markers, paints, or stickers for decorating
How to Make Your Tin Can Drums
Clean out your tin cans and check for any sharp edges. Cut the neck off a balloon and stretch the balloon over the open end of the can. Secure it with a rubber band.
Let the kids personalize their drums by decorating the cans with markers, paints, or stickers. They can make their drum set as colorful and creative as they like!
Once decorated, it’s time to grab those wooden spoons or chopsticks and start drumming! Each can will produce a different sound, so encourage your little ones to experiment with rhythms and beats.
