Tape-Resist Art
Moms Morning Memo
Ready for a bit of messy fun that's completely safe for even the littlest artists in your home? Today, we're combining two fantastic activities: creating tape-resist art and mixing up our own edible finger paint.
Activity of the Day
Tape-Resist Art with Homemade Edible Finger Paint

Create beautiful designs that are fun to make and safe to taste
Things You’ll Need
Washable craft tape or painter’s tape
Heavy paper or cardboard
Flour
Water
Food coloring
Mixing bowls
Spoons
Steps to Create Your Edible Art Masterpiece
Place the tape on your heavy paper or cardboard to spell out names, make geometric designs, or create abstract shapes.
In a bowl, mix equal parts of flour and water until you have a smooth paste. Divide it among smaller bowls and add a few drops of food coloring to each to get different colors.
Let your kids use their fingers to apply the paint over and around the tape. Encourage them to cover all the exposed areas with vibrant colors.
Once the paint has dried, gently peel off the tape to reveal your crisp, clean lines against the colorful, messy background.
