Activity of the Day

Spoon Puppets

What You’ll Need:

  • Wooden or plastic spoons

  • Markers or paint

  • Scraps of fabric, felt, or paper

  • Glue (PVA or craft glue)

  • Scissors

  • Googly eyes, yarn, buttons, or other small decorations (optional)

💡 Inspiration

Steps to Make Your Spoon Puppets:

  1. Grab a spoon from the kitchen, and let’s get started. Wooden spoons are ideal because they’re easy to decorate, but plastic ones work just fine too.

  2. Use markers or paint to give your puppet a personality. Add googly eyes, yarn for hair, or even a big smile. Let your kids have fun creating silly, happy, or even sleepy faces.

  3. The handle of the spoon is where the fun really begins. Wrap it in fabric to create clothes, or paint it to look like a cool outfit. You can even add a superhero cape or a fancy dress—whatever sparks your child’s imagination.

  4. Personalize your puppet with extra details. Buttons, pipe cleaners, yarn—anything goes! The more creative, the better.

  5. Make sure your puppet is completely dry before you start playing.

A Fun Twist:

Once your puppets are ready, why not put on a little show? Invite everyone in the family to create their own puppet and join in on the fun.
