Melted Crayons

What You’ll Need:

  • Crayon shavings (made from old crayons)

  • Wax paper

  • An iron (with adult supervision)

  • Paper towels

  • An old towel or cloth to protect your workspace

💡 Inspiration

Step-by-Step Process:

  1. Lay an old towel or cloth on your workspace to protect it, then place a sheet of wax paper on top.

  2. Let your child sprinkle crayon shavings on the wax paper in any design they like. This is where their imagination gets to run wild!

  3. Place another sheet of wax paper over the crayon shavings.

  4. Carefully press a warm iron over the wax paper, with an adult’s help. Watch as the heat melts the shavings into a vibrant, abstract piece of art.

  5. Allow the wax paper to cool, then gently peel it away to reveal the colorful masterpiece. Hang it up or frame it for everyone to admire.
