Flashlight Projectors
Moms Morning Memo
Transform a simple evening at home into a magical experience with our easy-to-make flashlight projector. This project is perfect for little ones eager to explore the wonders of light and shadow.
Activity of the Day
Flashlight Projectors

Materials Needed:
Toilet paper rolls
Cling wrap
Rubber bands
Foam stickers
A small flashlight
💡 Inspiration
Step-by-Step Process:
Tear a piece of cling wrap and carefully cover one end of the toilet paper roll. Secure it in place with a rubber band, ensuring there are no gaps.
Let your child choose a foam sticker and place it centrally on the cling wrap.
In a dark room, point the flashlight through the open end of the roll towards the sticker. Adjust the distance to the wall to focus the projected image.
Why It’s a Hit
It’s a fantastic way for kids to learn about optics in a fun, hands-on way. Plus, it encourages storytelling and imaginative play as they bring the projected images to life with their own tales.
Fun Tip: Switch up the stickers and experiment with the distance to the wall to create different visual effects. See who can come up with the most creative shadow play!
