Food coloring in primary colors (red, yellow, blue)
Step-by-step Process:
Arrange glasses in a row, filling every other one two-thirds full with water.
Add red food coloring to the first glass, yellow to the third, and blue to the fifth.
Fold paper towels lengthwise and place one end in a glass with colored water, with the other end in the adjacent empty glass.
Observe as the water travels up the paper towels and into the empty glasses, merging colors along the way.
