Twig and Bead Fairy Wands
Moms Morning Memo
Remember how, as children, many of us dreamed of fairies and enchanted forests? Let's spark that same joy and wonder in our children today by creating something whimsical together: fairy wands!
Activity of the Day
Twig and Bead Fairy Wands
Craft these magical wands and watch your child’s imagination take flight!

What you’ll need:
Wooden dowels or sturdy sticks
Ribbons in various colors
Beads, sequins, or any sparkly embellishments
Craft glue or hot glue gun
Scissors
Step-by-step Process:
If you’re using wooden dowels, you might want to paint them first or you can keep the natural look for an earthy feel.
Choose ribbons in bright or pastel colors. Cut lengths of ribbon and tie them around the top end of the dowel, letting them cascade down.
Glue beads, sequins, or other embellishments along the dowel or on the ribbons. This is where you and your child can get creative with patterns and designs.
For a secure hold, ensure all elements are firmly attached. Allow any glue to dry completely before play begins.
Why we love this activity
Crafting fairy wands stimulates creativity, fine motor skills, and imaginative play. Children love to invent stories and characters, and having a tangible object from their imagination can enhance their storytelling and role-play.
This activity is a wonderful opportunity for you to engage directly with your child’s fantasies and encourage them to tell you about the magical adventures they envision. Listening and participating in such stories not only fuels their creativity but also strengthens your bond.
Get ready for some magical adventures in your own backyard or living room with your little ones and their new fairy wands. May your day be filled with magic and giggles!
