Turtle Race
Moms Morning Memo
Today's activity is all about speed and laughter – we're racing turtles, but not the kind you might expect. We've got a super simple and utterly delightful game that will have your little ones giggling and cheering for their paper turtle racers.
Activity of the Day
Turtle Race
Our Turtle Race is a playful way to encourage creativity and physical activity. This simple yet fun game is ideal for outdoor play and can be easily set up with a few common items.

What you’ll need:
Colorful paper to make your turtles
Straws for each participant
Scissors and markers to decorate
A flat surface to race on
Step-by-step process:
Cut out turtle shapes from your colorful paper.
Decorate them with markers to give each one a unique flair.
Line up your racers at the starting line on a flat surface.
Give each participant a straw.
And they're off!
It's a test of lung power and strategy, as they learn the best way to angle their straws and control their breath to speed their turtles on.
Pro tips
Create a championship series with heats and a grand final.
Use different colored straws and turtles to keep track of each racer.
Award homemade medals or certificates to celebrate the fun.
This playful activity isn't just for kicks; it's a stealthy way to teach children about the power of air pressure and the effects of force and direction, all wrapped up in an exciting race.
Let the games begin, and may the best turtle win!
