Steps to Spin Your Web:

  1. Use your painter's tape to create a web pattern across the hallway or doorway. Crisscross the tape sticky-side out from wall to wall. You can make it as simple or intricate as you like, adjusting the difficulty based on the age and skill level of your players.

  2. Any lightweight object that can stick to the tape will work. Newspaper crumpled into balls, soft toys, or small fabric items are perfect. You might even use leaves for an autumnal game or faux insects for added giggles.

  3. The aim is to throw your items onto the tape without them falling off. Score points based on where they stick, or for younger kids, just enjoy the challenge of making them stick at all.

Why we love this activity:

The Sticky Spider Web game not only promotes physical activity as kids stretch, aim, and throw, but it also sparks creativity. They’ll think critically about where to place their tape and how to throw their items to make them stick.

Encourage everyone to decorate their projectiles or come up with fun variations of the game. Maybe during one round, you have to throw with your non-dominant hand, or maybe you introduce blindfolded throws. The possibilities to tweak and innovate are endless.
