Sparkly Spring Tree
Moms Morning Memo
With spring in full bloom, what better way to celebrate the season of growth and renewal than by engaging our toddlers in a fun and colorful craft activity? Let's create a vibrant spring tree that will brighten up our homes and give our little ones a tactile, engaging art project.
Activity of the Day
Sparkly Spring Tree

This simple project is perfect for little hands and big imaginations.
What you’ll need:
A sheet of blue construction paper (for the sky)
Brown construction paper (for the tree trunk)
Green construction paper or tissue paper (for leaves)
Colored tissue paper (for blossoms)
Glue
Scissors (for grownup use only!)
Step-by-step process:
Lay the blue construction paper flat. This will be your sky.
Cut a tree trunk shape out of the brown construction paper. Let your toddler help with directing where it should go on the blue paper, then glue it in place.
Tear green construction paper or tissue paper into small pieces. This is great for developing fine motor skills. Glue these pieces around the branches of your tree to resemble leaves.
Cut or tear small pieces of colored tissue paper for the blossoms. Toddlers can enjoy sticking these on their tree to bring the vibrant colors of spring to life.
Why we love this activity
This activity isn't just fun; it also helps toddlers develop important skills. Manipulating small pieces of paper and using glue safely are great ways to improve fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Additionally, it sparks creativity and gives them a sense of accomplishment when they see their finished artwork.

Crafting together provides a wonderful opportunity for you to engage with your child’s creative process. It allows you to discuss the changes in the seasons, the colors of spring, and the nature around us, making for not only an educational experience but also a meaningful bonding moment.
