Activity of the Day

Snow Globe Crafting

Transform your home into a winter wonderland with this simple yet enchanting craft. With just a few common household items (or maybe something you’ll need to pick up at the local grocery), you and your little ones can create a miniature, snowy paradise.

What you’ll need

  • A clear jar with a secure lid

  • Small toys or figurines

  • Strong glue

  • Glycerin

  • Glitter

  • Distilled water

Step-by-step process

  1. Affix your chosen toy to the inside of the lid with strong adhesive. Let it set completely.

  2. Fill your jar almost to the brim with distilled water, add a pinch of glycerin, and a spoonful of glitter or faux snow.

  3. Once the adhesive is dry and the inside figure is secure, close the jar tightly. For a waterproof seal, apply adhesive around the edge of the lid before screwing it on.

  4. Shake gently and place your snow globe on display for a whimsical winter effect.

Pro tips:

  • Make sure the glue is completely dry before adding water.

  • Seal the lid with additional glue if necessary to prevent leaks.

  • Crafting these snow globes is a way to build memories together. Each one captures a slice of your child's creativity, forever preserved with a sprinkle of glitter.

After crafting, why not put on a family show-and-tell? It’s a great way for everyone to share their creations and the stories behind them.
