Rainbow Heart Suncatchers
Moms Morning Memo
Welcome to another exciting day with Moms Morning Memo, where we fuse creativity, fun, and learning into your daily routine. Today's activity is all about adding a splash of color and joy to your home. Let's get started!
Activity of the day:
Rainbow Heart Suncatchers

Brighten Your Windows with Handmade Suncatchers
Today, we're making Rainbow Heart Suncatchers, a delightful craft that's as fun to make as it is to display. These suncatchers are perfect for brightening up your windows and bringing a smile to everyone's face.
What You'll Need:
Tissue paper in various colors
Glue (Mod Podge is preferred but not required!)
Paintbrush
Plastic sheet (like a laminating sheet or a plastic folder)
Heart template (printed on white cardstock)
Scissors
Double-sided tape for hanging
Step-by-step process
Have your child cut the tissue paper into small squares.
Spread a thick layer of Mod Podge on the plastic sheet.
Press the tissue paper squares onto the plastic. Then, brush another layer of Mod Podge over the tissue paper.
While waiting for the sheet to dry, cut out the heart template.
Once dry, gently peel the tissue paper layer from the plastic. Trace the heart onto this layer and cut it out.
Attach the suncatchers to your window using double-sided tape.
Pro tips:
Balance light and dark shades of tissue paper to create a vibrant effect when the sunlight shines through.

Feel free to experiment with different shapes! Stars, circles, or even your child’s initial can make this craft even more personal.
If colored tissue paper isn’t available, colored cellophane or colored wax paper are excellent alternatives for a similar translucent effect.
This craft is a wonderful way to explore colors and shapes with your kids. It also offers a chance to develop their fine motor skills and creativity as they design their own unique suncatchers.
Crafting Memories Together
While making these suncatchers, you're also crafting lasting memories with your children. These moments of shared creativity foster a sense of accomplishment and joy in your kids that goes beyond the craft itself.
