Steps to Make Fluffy Slime:

  1. Pour the entire bottle of white school glue into your mixing bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of water and mix well.

  2. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda. This helps give the slime its stretchy texture.

  3. If you want your slime to be extra fluffy, add about 1 cup of shaving cream. Mix thoroughly until everything is combined.

  4. Add a few drops of food coloring to the mixture. Stir well until you achieve the desired color.

  5. Add the saline solution slowly, about 1 tablespoon at a time, while stirring. Continue to add and mix until the slime begins to pull away from the sides of the bowl and form a ball.

  6. Once the slime has formed, take it out of the bowl and knead it with your hands. If it’s too sticky, add a bit more saline solution until it reaches the perfect consistency.

Pro tip:

Encourage your kids to experiment with different amounts of shaving cream to see how it affects the fluffiness of the slime. They can also mix in glitter or small beads for added texture and sparkle.

Why we all love it

Making fluffy slime is a fantastic way to explore the principles of chemistry in a fun and tactile way. The combination of ingredients creates a stretchy, squishy substance that kids can’t get enough of. Plus, it’s a great sensory activity that keeps little hands busy.
