Cardboard Tent
Moms Morning Memo
Transform a simple cardboard box into a magical play space with this DIY cardboard tent activity! It's an easy and fun project that provides hours of imaginative play for your kids. Let’s get started and create a cozy little nook for adventures right at home.
Activity of the Day
DIY Cardboard Tent

Turn an ordinary box into an extraordinary play tent.
Materials Needed:
Large cardboard box
Scissors or a craft knife (adult supervision required)
Tape or glue
Paint, markers, or crayons for decorating
Fabric or old sheets (optional for added decoration)
String lights or fairy lights (optional for extra magic)
Step-by-step process:
Find a large cardboard box and open it up. Flatten it out and cut off any flaps to create a large, flat piece of cardboard.
Fold the cardboard in half to form a tent shape. You can cut the front in a triangle shape to create a classic tent entrance.
Use tape or glue to secure the top of the tent. Make sure it's stable and stands on its own.
Let your kids decorate the tent with paint, markers, or crayons. They can draw windows, patterns, or even a family crest! For an extra touch, drape fabric or old sheets over the tent to give it a cozy feel.
If you have string lights or fairy lights, carefully drape them inside the tent for a magical glow. Make sure the lights are safe and do not overheat.
Place some pillows, blankets, and their favorite toys inside the tent. This creates a comfy and inviting space for them to play, read, or even nap.
