Things You’ll Need:
Cardboard tubes (toilet paper or paper towel rolls)
Orange paint or orange construction paper
Black marker or black construction paper
Glue
Scissors
Googly eyes (optional)
Craft foam or colored paper for additional features
Step-by-step Process:
If you’re using orange paint, start by painting the cardboard tubes orange and let them dry completely. If you prefer, wrap the tubes in orange construction paper and secure with glue.
Use a black marker to draw stripes on your tiger. If you’re using black construction paper, cut out thin strips and glue them onto the tube.
Cut out small shapes from colored paper or craft foam for the tiger’s nose and ears. Glue these onto the top of the tube. Add googly eyes if you have them, or draw eyes with a marker.
Cut four small rectangles from the leftover cardboard or construction paper for the legs. Attach them to the bottom of the tube. For the tail, cut a thin strip of paper or foam, add some black stripes, and glue it to the back of the tube.
Add any extra details like whiskers or a mouth using markers or additional pieces of paper.
Pro tips:
Use different sizes of cardboard tubes to create a whole family of tigers.
Encourage your kids to come up with names and personalities for their tigers.
Set up a mini jungle scene with other animal crafts for imaginative play.
Why This Craft is a Roaring Success:
Creating a cardboard tube tiger is a fun way for kids to explore their creativity while developing fine motor skills. They’ll love seeing how an everyday item can be transformed into a playful animal.
