Building a Thankful Tree 

Celebrate what’s good right now with a tree of gratitude.

Things You'll Need:

  • Branches (select ones with several offshoots for hanging your leaves)

  • A sturdy vase or pot

  • Construction paper in bright or pastel spring colors

  • Scissors

  • String or yarn

  • Hole punch

  • Markers or pens

Step-by-step process:

  1. Arrange the branches in your vase. Use stones or gravel for additional support to keep them standing tall.

  2. Cut out leaf shapes from your chosen paper. You can draw freehand or use a template if you prefer a uniform look.

  3. Have each family member write something they are thankful for on a leaf. Punch a hole at the top of each leaf, thread a string through it, and tie it to the tree.
